About
a little « je ne sais quoi »
cathou is a small, closely edited shop — delicate gold and silver jewelry, plus a few beautiful things for the home and the bath.
Finding a gift that feels considered is surprisingly hard. Not expensive — just chosen with some thought. That's the whole idea here.
Where it comes from
- Independent European makers — an atelier outside Paris, a design studio in Rotterdam, a workshop in Athens, silversmiths in the UK
- A growing handful of American makers, held to exactly the same standard
- Made in small runs, often by hand, by people who do one thing carefully
- When something sells out, it sometimes doesn't come back
How things are chosen
One piece at a time, and slowly. The test is simple: would it be a pleasure to give, and a pleasure to keep?
- Jewelry you can live in — mostly waterproof and tarnish-resistant
- Made for real days, not just special occasions
- Priced so you don't need an excuse to buy it
The unboxing is part of the gift
Every order is packed by hand and arrives ready to give:
- Kraft tape and tissue
- A rose satin ribbon
- A natural cotton pouch
- A care card
Included on every order — whether it's a present for someone else or entirely for yourself.
Behind the shop
cathou is run by Catherine Fogarty — the emails, the packing, the choosing of every piece. If you write in, you'll be writing to her.
Thank you for being here. It matters more than you'd think.
